AIRN coaching supports…
  • Leaders to understand how their knowledge, mental models, and behavior can influence the successful and sustainable implementation of effective practices by their workforces.
  • Implementation Teams and Specialists to build knowledge, as well as how to practically embed a systematic and structured approach to implementation.
  • The applied use of the Active Implementation Frameworks™.
For leaders, Implementation Teams, and Implementation Specialists, this includes a specific set of “engagement and facilitation” skills that are catalysts to effective culture and practice change efforts in organizations.
Active Implementation Research Network
Engaging with AIRN over an extended period of time brought two significant and lasting benefits for our organization. First, it helped us develop a shared language around implementation. This shared language cut across our team, creating a common foundation for how we think and talk about this work. Second, it allowed us to develop and refine our approach to providing implementation support in the communities we serve.

– Tegan Henke, DrPHc, CEO & Principal Consultant (Convergent Mental Health Group)

AIRN partnered with us in a truly meaningful way. They not only educated us on the key components of successful implementation but also walked alongside us as we applied new skills and approaches in our work with districts and officers. The real-time coaching, feedback, and ongoing support they provided were unlike anything I’ve experienced in my 30 year career.

– Evey Wooten, former Regional Implementation Team member, Community Corrections expert

While I have the privilege of working with incredibly brilliant colleagues and collaborators, the Active Implementation Frameworks offer tools that make our work more efficient, focused, enjoyable, and effective.

– Becci Akin, Professor in the School of Social Welfare, at the University of Kansas

Ad hoc consultation sessions

Ad hoc consultation sessions primarily focus on deepening your understanding of core aspects of the practice and science of implementation. These sessions are helpful if you are motivated to increase your awareness and knowledge of implementation as it relates to specific scenarios or challenges you are navigating.

We recommend scheduling an ad hoc consultation session for the following purposes:

Ongoing coaching programs

Ongoing coaching primarily focuses on translating knowledge and enhancing skills related to implementation work. It is suitable for individuals or teams who can commit to regular meetings. Ongoing coaching involves applying your knowledge and skills in a real-world context.

With ongoing coaching, we use direct observation (via recordings and online or in-person attendance) of the “coachee” using their knowledge and skills.

Direct observation allows for effective coaching that includes behaviorally specific feedback to recognize the coachee’s helpful behaviors and effective use of key skills, as well as feedback to address areas of practice to further develop.

We recommend engaging in an ongoing coaching program for those who are actively using their knowledge and skills to guide implementation and improvement work. Ongoing coaching is beneficial for leaders, Implementation Specialists, and Implementation Teams.
